Clayton blogger Susan McLean, who writes Divine Secrets of a Domestic Diva, will be holding a Huffy Community Ride and Bike Drive on Sunday, Oct. 6 at Smyrna High School.
The food drive will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the parking lot by the tennis courts.
McLean will be at the drive with several Huffy Bikes for review. McLean encourages everyone to bring their own bikes, take a ride on the trail around the high school, and to bring some non-perishable food items to be donated to the Smyrna/Clayton Food Pantry.
Residents must donate to be entered to win the bike; you do not need to be present to win. One winner will select any men, women or kids Huffy Bike available from Walmart.com.
The winner's name will be picked at 1 p.m. McLean will also be giving away six Huffy tote bags with a signed copy of the best-selling book McLean was featured in: "I Just Want to Pee Alone."
The more donations you give, the more chances there are to win:
- 1 to 5 non-perishable food items – 2 entries
- 6 to 10 non-perishable food items – 4 entries
- 11 to 15 non-perishable food items – 6 entries
- 16 to 20 non-perishable food items – 8 entries
- 21 or more non-perishable food items – 10 entries
McLean said the food pantry is specifically looking for items like beef stew, tuna fish, parmalat/dried milk, macaroni and cheese, peanut butter, canned fruit, spam, juices and more. Currently, the pantry does not need any corn or green beans after receiving a large supply.
