  • Smyrna man arrested on DUI, disorderly conduct charges

  • A Smyrna man has been arrested on DUI and disorderly conduct charges following an incident at Royal Farms.
    Smyrna Police responded to Royal Farms Saturday at 12:52 a.m. in reference to a man being disorderly inside the store.
    Upon arrival police stopped the man in his vehicle as he was attempting to leave the establishment. Police said the man was found to be extremely intoxicated at more than three times the legal limit. The officer checked with the employees inside who advised that the man was belligerent and was throwing things while inside the store.
    Carl C. Coventry Jr. 47, of Massey Church Road, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and disorderly conduct.
    He was processed at the Smyrna Police Department and presented at Justice of the Peace Court 7 via videophone and later released after posting a $1,000 secured bond.
