  • Sunnyside Elementary School is holding a food drive from now until their PBS/PTO Fall Festival on Friday, Nov. 8.
The Fall Festival is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 8 at the school. The items will be donated to the local food pantry.
At the Fall Festival, families may donate canned goods in exchange for one basket raffle ticket that can be used as a chance to win a grade level basket. If you would like a free raffle ticket, exchange your canned good(s) in the front corner of the gym for your raffle ticket at the Fall Festival.
Members of the community interested in donating can drop canned goods off at the front office at Sunnyside Elementary, which is located at 123 Rabbit Chase Lane in Smyrna.
The following items have been requested by the food pantry: canned meats, boxed rice, beef stew, gravy, chili, broth, canned pasta, soup, peas, pancake mix, pancake syrup, mixed vegetables, beets, juice, baked beans, peanut butter, boxed macaroni & cheese, jelly, canned fruit, milk dry packets, parmalat/canned.
Sunnyside Elementary held the food drive for the first time last year and due to the success of it, school staff has decided to make the food drive an annual event.
