Delaware State Police suspect the victim in a Nov. 11 home invasion was purposely singled out for attack.
A 19-year-old Cheswold-area man attacked in a home invasion Monday night apparently was targeted for the robbery, said Delaware State Police spokesman Master Cpl. Gary Fournier.
The incident took place at approximately 11 p.m. Nov. 11 in the unit block of Boxton Court, Lakeshore Village, north of Cheswold, when the man was going into his garage.
While the door was open, four to five men came inside and began beating the victim while demanding drugs and money.
The victim and his 14-year-old sister, who was asleep in her bed, were forced into the basement while the men ransacked the home, removing computers, flat screen televisions, cell phones and other electronics. The suspects then fled.
The victim, who was slightly injured in the attack, refused medical treatment. The girl was unhurt.
Fournier said detectives determined through preliminary investigations that the suspects apparently singled out the victim on purpose.
The suspects were described only as black men wearing dark-colored clothing and black masks with gloves.
