Delaware State Police are currently investigating a robbery of a 39-year-old female Wednesday night as she was walking through Holly Hill Estates in Smyrna.
The incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. near the intersection of Hemlock Way and Holly Hill Drive as the victim had just left a residence and was walking home with a male acquaintance when she was pulled to the ground from behind by an unknown male subject. Once on the ground the assailant removed her purse, which contained cash, prescription medication, and a debit card before fleeing eastbound on Hemlock Way.
The female victim sustained an injury to her head and was transported to Kent General Hospital where she was treated and released. The male acquaintance was not accosted and was not injured in the event.
Police said the suspect is described as an unknown male, approximately 6' tall, 150 to 180 lbs., skinny and was seen wearing a black jacket and black pants. No further clothing or physical description was made available. The suspect was unarmed.
