  • Delawareans urged to brace for coastal storm Wednesday

  • The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Delaware and points north, effective Wednesday night Feb. 12 and Thursday, Feb. 13.

  • The National Weather Service in Mount Holly, N.J., has issued a winter storm watch, which is in effect from Wednesday evening, Feb. 12 through Thursday afternoon, Feb 13.
    The watch includes southeastern New Jersey, southern and central Delaware and much of the northern Maryland Eastern Shore.
    A strong coastal storm is forecast for the region.
    Snow accumulations will be between four and eight inches, with the highest amounts predicted to be inland.
    Precipitation should begin as all snow Wednesday night before changing over to a snow and sleet mix early Thursday morning. Precipitation is expected to be primarily rain by mid-day Thursday.
