  • The graduation ceremonies for the 77th Municipal Recruit Class was held at 2 p.m. today at the Delaware State University Education Humanities Building, 1200 N. DuPont Highway, Dover.
    Fifteen law enforcement officers representing several local police departments were recognized for the successful completion of law enforcement training.
    Patrol officer Shawn T. Jacobs, of Harrington Police Department, gave the class speech and Wilbert R. Bordley, criminal justice faculty at Delaware Technical & Community College, Owens Campus, Georgetown, Delaware and former chief of Smyrna Police Department was the keynote speaker.
    The following officers received awards: Delaware Police Chiefs Council Award, patrol officer Willie F. Johnson Jr., Dover Police Department; Director of the State Police Academy, Lawn Enforcement Core Values Award, patrol officer Gregory Locke, Delaware State University Department of Public Safety; Attorney General’s Award for Legal Excellence, patrol officer Gregory Locke, Delaware State University Department of Public Safety; Outstanding Proficiency in Police Firearms Award, patrol officer Robert A. Cunningham, Dover Police Department; Delaware State Police Academy Physical Fitness Award, patrol officer Daniel R. Koreyni, Bethany Beach Police Department.
