  • Wilson, McClymont file for Smyrna School Board election

  • Two candidates have filed for the 2014 Smyrna Board of Education election.
    Jody L. Wilson, of Smyrna, and Scot McClymont, of Clayton, have filed for the open at-large seat on the school board. The seat is currently filled by Board President Jeff Clark, who has decided against running for a fourth term.
    The at-large seat is a five-year term. The deadline to file with the Department of Elections was Friday.
    The Smyrna School Board election will be Tuesday, May 13. Polls will be open from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.
    The last day the Department of Elections can issue an absentee ballot is Monday, May 12 at noon. The deadline the Department of Elections can receive an absentee ballot to count it towards the election for the board of education election is Tuesday, May 13 at 8 p.m.
