  • A Clayton man was charged Friday after detectives linked him to fourteen burglaries in Kent County.
Police said the investigation began in January after Delaware State Police troopers began receiving reports of burglaries at residential construction sites. From January through March, troopers investigated fourteen burglaries where copper wiring and pipes were stolen from homes under construction in Dover, Clayton, and Smyrna. In several of the burglaries, forced entry was made into the partially-completed homes, causing damage to doors, walls, and windows. Copper wiring and pipes, already installed, were removed from the homes. Additionally, in one burglary, a gasoline-powered electric generator was stolen.
Police said Troop 3 detectives were able to link Jimmy Snow, 35, to these crimes, and obtained a warrant for his arrest. Detectives apprehended Snow at his residence on March 14.
Police said Snow was charged with 14 counts of third degree burglary, five counts of theft over $1,500, third degree conspiracy, 10 counts of theft under $1,500, two counts of selling stolen property under $1,500, criminal mischief over $1,000, and 13 counts of criminal mischief under $1,000.
Snow was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 7 and released after posting a $7,600 secured bail.
