    2013 RECORD 3-15
KEY RETURNING PLAYERS Katie Norvell, Sydney Botsch, Maddie Rodriguez, Chelsea Fuhr, Taylor Cappella, Amber Carrow, Emily Hodgeman, Cayla Carter, Sierra Watkins
KEY NEWCOMERS Sianea Baker, Victoria Quiros, Brianna Sapienza, Kayla Parker
SEASON OUTLOOK The Lady Eagles return this year having only lost two players to graduation last year. With only two seniors on this year’s team, the softball team is still young. A key to this year’s group could be the positive attitudes the girls are already showing. The players work well together and all have potential. However, the team’s youth could be a weakness as the players are still growing. Several Eagles play travel ball together, which could be to their advantage.
The key to the season is for the Lady Eagles to practice and play hard together as well as having a positive attitude. The team also has a strong bench. The coaches feel they can throw anybody in at any position and play well.
COACH’S QUOTE “I’m optimistic. The girls have a great attitude this year. They definitely bonded right away. We knew it was key they gel together so the returners stepped it up and pulled in the younger players on the team,” said Assistant Coach Nicki Shirey. “As with every year our goal is to make the state tournament and have a winning record. We need to do well in our conference, which is the strongest conference in the state. We need to be competitive this year.”
