AMC is expanding into comedy. The cable network behind hit dramas Breaking Bad and Mad Men announced Wednesday that it has ordered its first comedy pilot called We Hate Paul Revere.

AMC renews Comic Book Men, develops two more Kevin Smith shows

Written, executive-produced and starring Ethan Sandler (Whitney) and Adrian Wenner (My Boys), the half-hour is about two brothers living in Colonial Boston who are not fans of local industrialist and activist Paul Revere.

The cable network is also moving ahead with its companion series for The Walking Dead and has inked an overall deal with Sons of Anarchy's Dave Erickson, who will co-write and executive-produce the untitled series. As reported earlier, AMC also renewed Kevin Smith's Comic Book Men and is working with him to develop two more series.
