  • Smyrna man arrested after allegedly robbing Smyrna stores

  • Smyrna Police have arrested a Smyrna man for allegedly attempting to rob three stores on Monday.
    Police said on Monday at 4:31 p.m. a man entered the Dollar General on Jimmy Drive and handed the cashier a note demanding money and advising that he had a gun. When the cashier yelled at the man, he ran out of the store and fled.
    At 5:10 p.m. the man entered the Dollar Tree in the Gateway Shopping Center and handed the cashier a note demanding money and threatening to use a weapon. After obtaining a small amount of money, the man left the store and once again fled, police said.
    Police said on Tuesday at 12:15 a.m. the man entered the Wawa on Jimmy Drive where he again handed the cashier a note advising to hand over money and that he had a gun and would use it. Again the man received a small amount of money and ran out of the store. Officers observed the man running south of the store and apprehended him without incident, police said.
    Nicolas J. Henrich, 32, of the 500 block of Alfalfa Court in Smyrna, was transported to the Smyrna Police Department where he was processed and charged with first-degree attempted robbery and two counts of first degree robbery. Police said Henrich was presented at Justice of the Peace Court 7 via videophone and committed to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in default of a $60,000 secured bond.
