  • Half-day science camps for kids offered near Smyrna

  • The Delaware AeroSpace Education Foundation is offering half-day camps June 23-27 for children who will be entering first to third grades.
    The programs will be held at the DASEF Environmental Outpost at Big Oak Park on Big Oak Road just south of Smyrna.
    For students who will be entering first or second grade, "Destination Ocean" will be held from 9 a.m. to noon, focusing on the sea and beach. Children will explore and learn about the colorful life that moves and interacts in the ocean.
    "Destination Dinosaur" for students entering second or third grade will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Children will participate in a dinosaur dig, excavating "bones" and then assembling them. Different species of dinosaurs will be studied using creative approaches and activities.
    The cost is $125.
