The Smyrna Clayton Running Club has announced that the Liberty 5K Run/Walk in Smyrna has been moved to Wednesday, July 9 at 6:30 p.m. A free healthy kids run for ages 10 and under will be held at 6:20 p.m.
Originally scheduled for July 3, the event was postponed because of the forecast for thunderstorms and strong winds as Hurricane Arthur was moving up the East Coast.

Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. The fee is $25, but is free with $50 in donations. Checks should be payable to Smyrna Clayton Running Club. Registration is also available online at TriSportsEvents.com.
Proceeds will benefit the Smyrna-Clayton Food Pantry, the Smyrna-Clayton July 4th Association, and the Smyrna Clayton Running Club. Donations of non-perishable food items are encouraged for the food pantry.
Awards in the run will be presented to the top overall male and female, top overall masters (ages 40 and up) male and female, and the top three male and female finishers in each age group from 10 and under to 70 and up. Walk awards will go to the top three male and female walkers. All participants in the healthy kids run will receive a ribbon.
