With temperatures on the rise, state officials encourage Delaware residents who are vulnerable to extreme heat and need services — including seniors and people with disabilities or underlying medical conditions — to dial 2-1-1.

As temperatures increase, instances of heat exhaustion, heat stroke, severe respiratory conditions and other heat-related illnesses also go up.

Available 2-1-1 resources include the U.S. Department of Health and Social Services’ low-income home energy assistance program and the City of Wilmington’s free electric fan program for seniors.
