  • Middletown man charged with fifth DUI offense in Clayton

  • A Middletown man was arrested in Clayton on Friday and charged with his alleged fifth DUI offense.
    Police said on Friday while on routine patrol, a Clayton Police officer stopped a vehicle for speeding on Wheatleys Pond Road in Clayton. Upon speaking with the driver of the vehicle, the officer allegedly noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from the operator as he spoke.
    Police said while checking the driver’s information, the officer found the operator had four prior DUI convictions.
    Michael P. Fox, 55, of the 100 block of Sassafras Drive in Middletown, was charged with fifth offense Driving Under the Influence as well as speeding.
    Fox was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 7 and was issue a $5,100 secured bond. Police said Fox was committed to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center.
