Free summer concerts at Middletown senior center

    The M.O.T. Jean Birch Senior Center in Middletown is offering free summer concerts on Friday evenings in July from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the center, 300 South Scott Street, west of Broad Street (Route 71).
    Here is the schedule:
    • July 10, “God’s Power & Light Company” presenting the cantata “Land of the Free,” directed by Donna Cavender;
    • July 17, “Swing City Band” featuring swing and jazz music;
    • July 24, “Generations” featuring the big band sound;
    • July 31, gospel singer Kathy Wright and “The Mystery Bluegrass Band.”
    Bring a lawn chair or blanket for seats. In case of rain, event will be held indoors.
    Hot dogs, sodas, chips, and homemade ice cream will be on sale. Proceeds benefit the senior center.
