Ten food trucks will compete to win the coveted Blue Earl People's Choice Award, voted on by those attending the event which also includes free live music, games and face painting.

Blue Earl Brewing in Smyrna is hosting a Food Truck Throwdown Saturday, Aug. 5 from noon to 9 p.m., at 210 Artisan Drive in the Smyrna Business Park off of Wheatley's Pond Road.

Admission is free, but visitors under 21 must be accompanied by an adult.

Ten food trucks will compete to win the coveted Blue Earl People's Choice Award, voted on by those attending the event.

Additionally, a panel of food experts will judge signature dishes prepared by each food truck for a chance to win the 2017 Blue Earl Cup.

Food trucks will be selling dishes from Mediterranean to Mexican, grilled cheese to barbecue to homemade southern comfort food.

A very special Blue Earl Throwdown beer will debut at the event which will include a variety of Blue Earl selections for sale.

The day also features free live music and entertainment including games, face painting and a bouncy house for children.

A portion of proceeds will benefit the Food Bank of Delaware.

A 50/50 raffle will benefit Citizens' Hose Company No. 1 Inc. of Smyrna.
