Breakfast with Santa

Breakfast with Santa at the Clayton Fire Hall celebrates the 20th year that the fire company has welcomed Santa and Mrs. Claus to visit boys and girls. This year’s event Dec. 3 will be held from 8-11 a.m., featuring an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet with sausage, bacon, hot cakes, French toast sticks, eggs, toast, milk and orange juice. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there for photos and will have a special surprise for each child. The cost is $8 for adults, $5 for kids, and free for kids under 2. Reservations are required to attend by calling 302-632-3445.

The event also offers children the chance to shop for in Santa's Workshop for their mother, father, brothers, sisters and even their pets. Each gift cost $2 and comes with free wrapping.

Clayton Fire Company will be holding its annual Toys for Tots campaign and will be collecting new, unwrapped toys during Breakfast with Santa for the U.S. Marine Corps project which gives toys to children in need.

Craft show, caroling and Nativity scene

The Clayton Historical Society will host a holiday vendor event Dec. 3 from 2-6 p.m., on Railroad Avenue, across from the Clayton Fire Company Christmas Tree Lot. Along with a variety of vendors selling crafts and food, there will be carolers and a live Nativity scene. For more information, see the website

Christmas parade

The Smyrna-Clayton July 4th Foundation is hosting its annual Christmas parade along Main Street on Dec 3 at 5 p.m. The parade will start at Clayton Elementary School and proceed east on Main Street, across the railroad tracks then turn north on Reed Street, disbanding at the Eagle Group parking lot.

Memorial tree ceremony

On Dec. 3 at 6 p.m., the July 4th Foundation will host its annual Memorial Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Clayton Fire Hall. For information on sponsoring lights on the tree in memory of or in honor of a loved one, call Bob Merrill at 653-6809 or Joanne Masten at 653-6235.
