Burial service in Smyrna Monday for Delaware City firefighter

Family and friends, as well as hundreds of emergency personnel and dignitaries, paid their respects and said their goodbyes to fallen Delaware City Volunteer Fire Company firefighter Michelle Newton Smith Monday morning.Services were held at the Delaware City Fire Company on Fifth Street, and the burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery on Route 13 in Smyrna.

Station 64 gives a gift from the heart, for the heart

Smyrna’s American Legion Ambulance Service gave a special gift to a Clayton family last week – a gift with the potential to save a life. On December 23, ambulance service members from Station 64 donated a defibrillator to Susan Capel and her 9-year-old son, Kevin.
