The Clayton Historical Society organized the contest for the first time and the group plans to make it an annual event.
The Clayton Historical Society recently announced the winners of the organization’s first Christmas Light Contest. Judging took place during the weekend of Dec. 16 and 17.
The judges evaluated the decorations at more than 50 homes and businesses.
Awards were given for first through 11th place in the residential category and first through third place in the business category.
Residential winners were as follows:
First - 199 W. Radison Run;
Second - 322 Smyrna Ave.;
Third - 212 Washington Ave.;
Fourth - 175 Riverdale Lane;
Fifth - 221 Clayton Ave.;
Sixth - 210 Highland Ave.;,
Seventh - 200 Clayton Ave.;
Eighth - 823 Coldwater Drive;
Ninth - 4 Roth Circle;
10th - 102 Main St.;
11th - 155 W. Radison Run.
Business winners were: First - Impact Insurance Agency, 312 Main St.; Second -The Young Bean, 314 Main St., Third - Fingertip Fantasies, 401 Main St.
Sponsors for the contest were A&E Building Services, Data Storage Solutions, Parma Pizza, William R. Carrow II, Impact Insurance, The Young Bean, Kee's Cupcakes and Cookies, Fingertip Fantasies, Flowers by Sherri and the Clayton Fire Company.
