On Friday, Feb. 19 at 7 p.m., the Smyrna Opera House will present a free family movie, "Happy Feet," the winner of the 2006 Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.

Released by Warner Brothers, Happy Feet is set deep in Antarctica, in the land of Emperor Penguins. Each penguin needs a heart song to attract a soul mate, but one penguin is born who cannot sing – at least not very well. Mumble (Elijah Wood), son of Memphis (Hugh Jackman) and Norma Jean (Nicole Kidman), is not a gifted singer, but he does have a unique talent - he can tap dance!

Some penguins don't think much of Mumble's dance moves though, especially Noah the Elder (Hugo Weaving), the leader of Emperor Land, who banishes Mumble out of the community. Mumble finally finds acceptance with a rag-tag group of penguins who call themselves the Adelie Amigos. Led by Ramon (Robin Williams), the Adelies are cool with Mumble's dance moves and invite him to join them. Together, Mumble and the Amigos find out about the importance of being true to one's self.

"Its craftsmanship and ambition put it a continent ahead of nearly every other animated feature of the last couple of years,” states Michael Phillips of the Chicago Tribune.

Admission is free but reservations are required. Space is limited! Contributions are also encouraged.

Tickets may be reserved by calling (302) 653-4236 or in person at the Smyrna Opera House, 7 W. South Street, at the corner near Main Street, Smyrna, Tuesdays to Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

On Friday evening, the box office will open at 6 p.m.
