Smyrna Wesleyan Church will begin hosting a DivorceCare divorce recovery seminar and support group beginning Thursday, Jan. 14 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
The DivorceCare program is designed to help participants face the challenges associated with being separated or divorced and move toward rebuilding their lives. The program meets weekly for 13 weeks. Each weekly session begins with the group watching a video seminar featuring top experts on divorce and recovery subjects. After viewing the video, DivorceCare group participants spend time as a support group, discussing what was presented in that week’s video seminar and what is going on in their lives.
New participants can join the group at any time. The registration fee is $15. Scholarships are available for those with financial need.
Children’s programs, dinner also available
Additionally on Thursday, Smyrna Wesleyan offers the AWANA program from 6 to 8 p.m. for children birth through 6th grade, and Taking Ground Ministry for youth in 6th to 12th grade.
Participants of DivorceCare with children are encouraged to enroll them in the age-appropriate related program.
To help facilitate all of the church’s busy activities on Thursdays, the church offers a meal beginning at 5:30 p.m. for a recommended $2 per person donation.
