1799 Wilmington Masons held a funeral procession in honor of Washington who had recently died. Gunning Bedford, Jr. gave an oration at the 2nd Presbyterian Church on 5th and Walnut Streets.

1809 Governor Truitt pardoned Hannah Potts of New Castle County who was sentenced to be whipped on her back with 15 lashes "well laid on."

1866 Delaware Association for Moral Improvement and Education of Colored People organized in Wilmington with the aim of adding 32 schools in the next 10 years in the state.
