All Smyrna School District schools will be closed Monday, Jan. 9 due to icy, snow-packed roads in many areas, according to Superintendent Debbie Wicks.

She announced the closings late this afternoon.

District 12-month employees should report two hours late, Wicks said, and essential employees should check with their supervisors.

About five inches of snow fell in the Smyrna-Clayton area on Sunday.

The nearest totals from DelDOT were 5.8 inches in Dover and 4.7 inches in Middletown.
