Memorial services for Patrolman Robert E. DaFonte and Cadet James D. Watts are planned for Saturday.

The Dover Police Department has announced funeral plans for an officer and a cadet killed in a traffic crash Sunday, Feb. 26.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Cadet James D. Watts at 10 a.m. Friday, March 3, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State St., Dover.

This ceremony will be followed by a visitation for Watts and Patrolman Robert E. DaFonte to be held from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, March 4 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, followed by memorial services at 2 p.m. at the same location.

Watts will be interred following the memorial service at the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.

In lieu of flowers, the families are requesting donations be made to the DaFonte/Watts Memorial Scholarship Fund, set up by the Dover Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 15. Checks should be made out to Dover FOP Lodge No. 15, P.O. Box 1352, Dover, DE 19903.
