Sen. Chris Coons issued a statement March 7 on the House Republicans' proposed Affordable Care Act replacement bill.
“The House Republicans’ plan to repeal the Affordable Care Act is unacceptable,” Coons said. “Their plan would leave millions of Americans without coverage and access to health care, increase out-of-pocket costs for consumers, cut Medicaid funding, put power back in the hands of insurance companies and endanger women’s health.
“The Affordable Care Act is not perfect, but this is a dangerous proposal that will take our country back to the days when consumers had few protections or financial assistance to access care. I’ve said all along that I’m willing to find ways to improve the Affordable Care Act, but this proposal does the opposite. I will fight to protect the health care of Delaware children, families, persons with disabilities and seniors by pushing back against this bill.”
