Bayhealth announced four of its chaplains recently completed a unit of the organization’s Clinical Pastoral Education program.
According to Bayhealth Senior Chaplain T. Blake Bowers, who oversees the Chaplaincy Services department, the 15-week program, which includes 100 instructional hours and 300 practical clinical hours with patients, is designed to teach chaplains how to be introspective with patients. The industry standard is four CPE units. Three of Bayhealth’s chaplains completed three of the four units, and the fourth participating chaplain has finished one unit. Three of the chaplains are continuing to a fourth unit of CPE, which will conclude in June.
The program also demonstrates Bayhealth’s commitment to providing patients and staff with a multidisciplinary and holistic approach to healing and wellness.
