The Central Delaware Civil War Round Table announced the nominating process for the third annual John F. Bochnowski Memorial Award will continue through May 1.
Nominations may be made by anyone who knows of a student who meets the following criteria:
— Must be a senior level student living as a legal resident of any county within Delaware.
— The nominating person needs to tell briefly why they feel this student is deserving of this award. The nominating person is requested to be at the planned presentation during the June 2017 meeting.
— The nominated student will need to write a brief paragraph on what has directed him/her towards the study of the American Civil War and their educational/career goals that include the study/preservation of American Civil War history. Also, they will need to include any past/current activities that focused on the American Civil War: i.e. participating in living history reenactments, educational courses beyond standard high school curriculums, internships/volunteer service at museums/historical sites.
The $500 award will be presented at the June 2017 meeting.
