Fourteen members of the Delaware State baseball team have been honored by the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference for their success in the classroom.

The MEAC recently announced its 2017 Baseball All-Academic selections, honoring 96 student-athletes from the conference’s nine baseball programs. MEAC sophomore, junior and senior student-athletes with a 3.0 GPA or better, as well as transfer student-athletes who have been in residence at the institution for at least one year, are eligible for All-Academic accolades.

Delaware State is tied with North Carolina A&T for tops in the league with 14 All-Academic selections.

The DSU honorees are: seniors Jacob Bartlett, Kyle Mace and Evan Regez; juniors Austin Bentley, Garrett Coverdale, Lane DeLeon, Travis Dill, Darrien Ragins and Gabe Rivera; and sophomores Todd Henry, Darnel Maisonet, Chris Mako and Sean McGrath.

Hornet baseball also earned the DSU Top Academic Men’s Team award for the 2016-17 year. The award, presented at the school’s year-end banquet, honors the Hornet men’s program with the highest team GPA.
