People’s Place, which provides mental health and social services throughout Kent and Sussex counties and lower New Castle County, held its annual breakfast and awards ceremony May 17.

About 100 guests comprised of People’s Place staff, board members, elected officials, local business members and other nonprofit organizations attended the ceremony. People’s Place Executive Director Janet Berry presented the agency’s annual report figures and shared strategic planning goals for the coming year. Guest speaker Timothy Brandau, executive director of Child Inc. in Wilmington, called attention to the common goal that People’s Place and Child Inc. share: the provision of quality services to domestic violence survivors and their children throughout Delaware.

The breakfast also gives People’s Place an opportunity to recognize the Employee of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Community Supporter and Volunteer of the Year awards.

Vickie Foxwell, People’s Place Support Services, and Kenneth Phillips, People’s Place Whatcoat Special Services Program, were named Employees of the Year.
