No serious injuries were reported after a minivan crashed into the front of Naturally Beautiful Salon in Ashley Plaza on East Main Street, across from WSFS Bank.

A minivan crashed into a Middletown beauty salon Tuesday evening, but no one was seriously injured.

Middletown police said the crash happened at about 6:37 p.m., at Naturally Beautiful Salon in Ashley Plaza in the 400 block of East Main Street.

After pulling into a parking space, Omowunmi M. Babatunde stepped on the gas instead of the brake and her minivan accelerated through the front of the salon, police said.

Three employees and two clients were inside.

Police said the owner of the salon, Laeia “Nikki” Washington not only warned everyone in the salon to exit towards the back of the store, she also re-entered the salon to help Babatunde get out of her car.

The building, salon equipment and the minivan were damaged, but no one was seriously injured. Two people received minor injuries, according to Washington.

Babatunde was issued a citation for inattentive driving, police said.
