A resolution recently passed the House and the Senate to create a Cannabis Task Force led by Rep. Helene Keeley and Sen. Margaret Henry.
The Task Force will research the implementation of cannabis legalization in Delaware and report findings to the general assembly no later than Jan. 31, 2018. There will be representation from various agencies and organizations, including three cannabis policy reform advocates appointed by the governor, to discuss the adoption of a legalization model that best addresses the state of Delaware’s needs and concerns, including banking and other logistics.
Similar task forces were commissioned in legal states after they legalized, to bring various agencies together on the implementation. The Cannabis Task Force will work prior to legalization to ensure that all agencies are ready.
