Delmarva Power recognized the men and women who work to provide safe and reliable energy to customers across the region, in celebration of National Lineworker Appreciation Day.

The day celebrates line workers who operate and maintain Delaware’s electric infrastructure. Delmarva Power counts on its employees to respond to emergencies 24/7 to keep the lights on for customers.

“Our lineworkers are critical to delivering on our promise to safely and reliably power the homes, businesses and economies of the customers and communities we serve,” said Tyler Anthony, Pepco Holdings senior vice president and chief operating officer. “Their work does not go unnoticed, and we ask everyone to join us as we celebrate them.”

To honor the nation’s lineworkers, a resolution was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives designating July 10 as National Lineworker Appreciation Day. Delmarva Power joins utility companies across the nation, including Exelon sister utilities BGE, ComEd, Atlantic City Electric, PECO and Pepco, in honoring all utility workers, both on the lines and in the field.
