Sacajawea Whaley is charged with assault and more.
On Sunday, July 9, around 10 p.m., the Georgetown Police Department responded to an assault complaint at Dunbarton Apartments after 44-year-old Sacajawea Whaley allegedly attempted to run over another woman.
An investigation found that the victim was standing in the parking lot of the apartment complex when Whaley drove a vehicle toward her, attempting to strike her. When the victim was able to avoid being hit, Whaley exited the vehicle and began to strike and kick her, as well as hit her in the head with a glass bottle. Whaley then returned to her vehicle and, again, unsuccessfully attempted to strike the victim with the vehicle.
Police took Whaley into custody at the scene without incident. The victim sustained minor injuries to her head and arm from the assault.
Whaley, of Georgetown, was arrested on charges of first-degree reckless endangering, third-degree assault, criminal mischief and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony. She was committed to Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution in lieu of $8,750 secured bail.
