56-year-old Henry Young is charged with burglary.
Georgetown police arrested a Millsboro man recently after he was seen removing items from a vehicle.
On Wednesday, July 5, police were dispatched to the 500 block of North Bedford Street for a possible theft in progress. Reports indicated that a male on a bicycle was seen looking inside vehicles and entering one vehicle, removing items.
As officers arrived in the area, they spotted 56-year-old Henry Young, of Millsboro, who matched the suspect description. As they approached him, Young started tossing away what they would later learn were the items stolen from the vehicle.
Young was charged with third-degree burglary and theft under $1,500 and committed to Sussex Correctional Center in lieu of $1,000 secured bond.
The Georgetown Police Department encourages all residents to keep their vehicles locked and secured. Also, valuables should either be removed from the vehicle or placed out of sight. Anyone who believes they have had items taken from their vehicle or that someone has attempted to take items from their vehicle is asked to report it to the police.
