Repairs have been made to section between Shorts Landing Road and Paddock Road, and the barricades on Route 9 have been removed.
The portion of Route 9 east of Smyrna that had been damaged last week has been opened to traffic.
The damaged section was closed Friday between Shorts Landing Road and Paddock Road. Traffic was detoured around the area.
The road was re-opened late Monday, according to Robert B. King, Delaware Department of Transportation community relations officer.
The damage was caused by water from the marsh running beneath the road, causing a portion the road to wash away, King said.
Repairs have been made and the barricades on Route 9 have been removed.
