A 28-year-old Magnolia man was arrested for a third offense charge of driving under the influence of alcohol in Rehoboth Beach early Friday morning.

Michael D. Ritter, 28, of Magnolia, Del. was arrested for a third offense charge of driving under the influence of alcohol, a felony, after being stopped by Rehoboth Beach Police for committing a traffic violation.

On Friday, August 25, at around 12:30 a.m., a Rehoboth Beach police officer on patrol observed a pick-up truck driven by Michael D. Ritter make two illegal turns, at the intersection of Rehoboth Avenue and First Street, and conducted a traffic stop.

The officer detected the odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle and Ritter showed signs of impairment. After conducting roadside sobriety tests, the officer took Ritter into custody and transported him to Beebe Medical Center for further tests.

He was eventually charged with his third offense of driving under the influence of alcohol, a felony, and various traffic offenses. He was later released on $2,500 unsecured bail.
