The University of Delaware Cooperative Extension will offer a fall poultry production program in October at two locations in Kent and Sussex counties.

Workshops will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 2 at University of Delaware Paradee Center, 69 Transportation Circle, Dover; and from 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 4 at University of Delaware Carvel Research and Education Center, 16483 County Seat Highway, Georgetown.

Poultry growers in the region can select either of the two identical sessions. The programs will focus on fundamentals of ventilation, poultry house controller basic and facts and figures poultry growers should know. Sessions will be presented by Sydney Riggi, UDel nutrient management extension agent; and Georgie Cartanza, UDel state poultry extension agent.

Each session will review advances in ventilation and control technology that local growers will find useful and which will help increase the efficiency of family farm operations.

Nutrient management credits are available.

Workshops are free, but registration is required either by email to terra@udel.edu, by phone to 730-4000 or online at extension.udel.edu/ag.
