Admitted to hospital for injuries

The Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Monday morning in the Coverdale Crossroads area of Bridgeville.

The incident was reported around 9:45 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 30, when calls of gunfire on Mill Park Drive were reported to 911. Shortly thereafter, a 39-year-old male victim was transported by a private vehicle to an area hospital with several gunshot wounds to his upper torso.

Detectives made contact with the victim at the hospital, who has been admitted and is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

At this time, no suspects have been developed. This incident remains under investigation by the Delaware State Police Major Crimes Unit.
