Being held on $100,000 bond
A Bridgeville man has been charged with raping a seven-year-old girl.
On Thursday, Jan. 25, the Laurel Police Department arrested 25-year-old John L. Young, of Bridgeville, after an investigation found that he had had sexual contact with the minor, who was in his care, on several occasions. He was charged with second-degree rape where the victim is less than 12 years old, two counts of unlawful sexual contact with a person who is less than 13 years of age and three counts of felony endangering the welfare of a child.
Young was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of a $100,000 secured bond and issued a no-contact order for the victims.
