Served community for 38 years
The ChesDel Restaurant on U.S. 13 near Port Penn has closed for good after serving the community for 38 years, the business announced on Facebook.
On Feb. 26., the restaurant posted the following message on its Facebook site: “To All of our Customers over the past 38 years, Thank You for all of your support. It has been a great pleasure serving our community. With tremendous emotion & anguish, we announce our closure.”
No reason for the closure was given.
But just three days before the announcement, the restaurant posted on the same Facebook site that, due to a water heater failure, the restaurant will be closed through Feb. 26, and reopen the next day. But the reopening never happened.
