Georgetown man flees accident scene, wanted on vehicular assault charge.
Delaware State Police are asking for help finding a suspect wanted on a first-degree vehicular assault charge.
The incident occurred on Dec. 10, 2017, at around 4:30 a.m. when troopers were dispatched to Oak Orchard Road at Nelsa Lane in Millsboro for a crash involving a single vehicle and a tree. The driver, later identified as 23-year-old Keith R. Jones of Georgetown, had fled the scene.
A 22-year-old male passenger in the vehicle was trapped and had to be extracted. He was removed from the scene by EMS and transported to the Beebe Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. Jones was located about 20 minutes later at a residence on Basin Road. He had sustained injuries as a result of the crash and was transported by EMS to Beebe Medical Center, where he was admitted.
Since Jones' release from the hospital, troopers have been unable to locate him. He currently has active warrants out of Troop 4 for first-degree vehicular assault, third offense driving a vehicle under the influence, leaving the scene of a collision, driving while suspended or revoked and other traffic-related offenses.
