Katrina Brown, 25, won $10,000 playing the "$250 GRAND" instant game with a ticket purchased at the Long Neck Shell in Millsboro.
Katrina Brown is a busy woman. The 25-year-old Millsboro resident and her fiancée run two businesses and have nine kids, but she finds time to play the Delaware Lottery once or twice a month.
Brown said she plays when she's feeling lucky. That lucky feeling led to a big win when she decided to purchase a few "$250 GRAND" instant game tickets from the Long Neck Shell in Millsboro.
One of those tickets ended up being a $10,000 winner, according to a press release from the Delaware Lottery.
"I'm impatient so I scratched them as soon as I got to the car," Brown said. "I knew I had won right away because I always scratch the numbers first and then the prize at the end."
She claimed her prize with her fiancée at Lottery headquarters in Dover April 27.
When asked what she planned to do with the winnings, Brown said, "We own two businesses so we'll probably invest to expand them."
The Delaware Lottery only publishes winners' names with their consent.
