The store is located in the Greentree Shopping Center.

Dover police are looking for leads in the theft of an ATM from a local grocery store.

Department spokesman Master Cpl Mark Hoffman said the incident took place at 4:57 a.m. Friday, June 15 at the Redner’s market at 25 Greentree Drive.

Their investigation showed the burglars forced open the sliding front doors of the store to gain access to the ATM, which stood in the lobby. They attached a chain to the machine and dragged it away, Hoffman said.

There is no description of the burglars other than they were wearing all black clothing.

Hoffman said he believed this was the first theft of its type in Dover.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information on this crime is asked to call Dover police at 736-7130. Callers may remain anonymous. Tips also may be submitted through Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333, or online at tipsubmit.com.
