Five suspects charged, drugs seized

Delaware State Police have concluded a month-long investigation that led to the arrest of multiple suspects on drug and related charges.

During the month of June, Troop 7 patrol units and detectives from the Rehoboth Beach Police Department developed information regarding the sale of drugs in the 17000 block of Callaway Drive in Fairway Village. Investigators determined that the residence was occupied by 34-year-old Chelsea Coffin and 41-year-old Aaron Jones and was frequented by 17-year-old Talim Muhammad-Hunt, of Philadelphia, and 50-year-old Demetrius Greene, of Lewes.

On Thursday, July 12, at around 2:20 p.m., troopers observed Muhammad-Hunt and Greene exiting the residence and walking over to the Movies at Midway, where they made contact with a female, identified as 26-year-old Felicia N. League, of Rehoboth Beach, by telephone.

League was observed responding to the residence in Fairway Village where she obtained a large gray metal box. She entered a vehicle that began traveling towards the movie theater. A traffic stop was conducted and contact was made with League and the driver, a 47-year-old male from Salisbury, Maryland. A search of the vehicle revealed a grey lockbox, over $300 in cash and drug paraphernalia. The driver was found to be in possession of 9.5 pills containing approximately 7.5 milligrams of hydrocodone. Both were taken into custody without incident.

As Muhammad-Hunt exited the movie theater, he was approached by police and found to be in possession of over $2,400 in cash. Greene was located hiding in the bathroom of the movie theater and was found in possession of 20 small plastic vials, containing crack cocaine, and a small quantity of marijuana.

All subjects were transported back to Troop 7, and a search warrant was obtained for the residence as well as the gray lockbox. The lockbox was found to contain 651 bags (approximately 4.557 grams) of heroin, 3.01 grams of powder cocaine, 159 plastic vials containing 11.58 grams of crack cocaine and a small quantity of marijuana. Drug paraphernalia was located throughout the residence and Coffin and Jones were taken into custody.

Both Coffin and Jones were charged with maintaining a drug property and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were later released on $3,200 unsecured bond. The 47-year-old Salisbury man was charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and released on $200 unsecured bond.

Felicia League was charged with possession tier 4 quantity heroin, possession with intent to deliver tier 4 quantity heroin, possession tier 2 quantity cocaine, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession with intent to deliver tier 2 quantity crack cocaine, second-degree conspiracy and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was later released on $34,200 unsecured bond.

Talim Muhammad-Hunt was charged with possession of tier 4 quantity heroin, possession with intent to deliver tier 4 quantity heroin, possession of tier 2 quantity cocaine, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession with intent to deliver tier 2 quantity crack cocaine, second-degree conspiracy, possession of marijuana by a person under 18 and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was later released on $34,400 unsecured bond.

Demetrius Greene was charged with possession of tier 4 quantity heroin, possession with intent to deliver tier 4 quantity heroin, possession tier 2 quantity cocaine, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession with intent to deliver tier 2 quantity crack cocaine, possession of marijuana, second-degree conspiracy and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $34,400 secured bond.
