UPDATE: The Delaware State Police have released the name of the victim involved in the shooting as 18-year-old Trevor McClements, of Seaford. McClements died of his injuries Friday, July 13.

Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting Monday, July 9, at the Carvel Gardens Apartments in Laurel.

At about 11:45 p.m., police responded to the 200 building in Carvel Gardens for a reported shooting. An 18-year-old Laurel male was found on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound to the head. He was transported by ambulance to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital and later flown to another hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

A second victim, a 22-year-old male who fled the scene, was later identified at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital. He suffered lacerations to his hand and face and was treated and released.

A preliminary investigation has determined that an altercation took place between multiple subjects in the area and the victim was shot by an unknown suspect.
