Police identified the couple as Ernest Washington and Teresa Bowers

Dover police have arrested two people in connection with a running drug investigation.

Department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said 42-year-old Ernest Washington and 31-year-old Teresa Bowers were taken into custody Sept. 21.

Washington, the target of the drug investigation, was stopped while in a vehicle at Minima and West North streets, where he was found in possession of 4.8 grams of crack cocaine and 503 grams of marijuana.

During a search of a home in the 400 block of East Water Street, as well as a storage area at the Saint Jones Mini-Storage at 666 S. Dupont Highway, officers seized 405.2 grams of cocaine, 331.7 grams of marijuana, $2,211 in suspected drug proceeds, and a 2011 Kia Forte Washington was operating.

Teresa Bowers was taken into custody at the residence without incident, Hoffman said.

Washington is charged with three counts of possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine, two counts of possession of Marijuana, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, and single counts of cocaine possession in a Tier 5 quantity, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, second-degree conspiracy and endangering the welfare of a child.

He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $159,000 cash bond.

Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, Possession of Cocaine in a Tier 5 quantity, possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana, possession of marijuana in a Tier 1 quantity, second-degree conspiracy and endangering the welfare of a child.

She was released from custody on a $78,750 unsecured bond.
