More than 82.7 percent of Delaware small businesses with fewer than 25 employees will be eligible for a tax credit to help pay the cost of employee health coverage, according to a new report.

The report, issued by consumer health organization Families USA and small business advocacy group Small Business Majority, said 11,300 small businesses in the First State will qualify for the tax credit program offered through the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

And 3,100 Delaware businesses will qualify for the maximum 35 percent tax credit, since those businesses employ 10 or fewer workers who earn an average wage of less than $25,000.
