Smyrna Board of Education election today

The Smyrna School District Board of Education election will be held Tuesday, May 12 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the following polling places:

• Clayton Elementary School, 510 W. Main Street, Clayton,

• Smyrna Elementary School, 121 S. School Lane, Smyrna,

• Kenton Rotary Club, Main Street, (Route 300), Kenton.

Jeff Clark, Smyrna School Board President, is running for re-election against challengers Steven Artz of Smyrna and Bebinn Cassel of Clayton. There is one at-large seat up for a five-year term.

The filling deadline was on March 6 at 4:30 p.m.

The new board term will begin July 1 and will end June 30, 2014.
